Budget (including currency): 2000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

mostly Creative (CaptureOne, LRTimelapse, DaVinciResolve), Gaming (Civ, sometimes Arma but more Strategy)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

  • no peripherals needed
  • no existing parts for the pc itself, just one M.2 which I would move
  • upgrading from a 2024 build which shows it's age
  • planning to buy this winter

I currently have 2x 1080p Monitors but thining about upgrading to 4k or wide in 1-2 years

Current state of planning:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/q88J7

I'm very flexible on most parts.
With the current Motherboards I really like the 4 M.2 slots, Wifi is nice but not a must. Optical audio would be good but I could wire my desk to 3.5mm.
I like the look of AiOs, thats why I didn't go for aircooling.
I'm open for case recommendations, USB-C would be good.
I would like to control the RGB with one software, I tried planning that way but i'm not sure about it.

If you have any recommendations on Performance, cost- optimization rgb-errors or anything, please let me know.
I'm looking forward to your replies.

You'd get better value for money though, which could be reinvested into the CPU or GPU.

Do you care about USB4, or no?

Are you planning to run stock memory with no XMP/EXPO? If you're not, it is a bit slow.

I didn't know about the XMP/EXPO issue. Will read into it,

I like the Lian Li 216.

For me it's mostly about the connector to use existing cables.

Thats not what he meant. The ram sticks run at 5200mhz, which is slower than most. The optimal speed for ddr5 ram is about 6000mhz. Try to get ran with that or better speeds instead. XMP means to overclock your ram, and he meant that you will not be able to overclock it to optimal speeds.

Make sure to mark solutions, as it helps us find people who need help faster. Thanks!

I am human and am therefore prone to error, so I apologize if I make mistakes and I hope you understand.

Have a Nice Day!

Any requirements on Motherboard features? Wifi? PCIe slots?

4 M.2 slots? Why not just get better and bigger M.2 instead? (4 M.2 slot MBs jump in price substantially)

I do cost optimizations 95% of the time.

If you do decide you want USB4, have a look at X870, which is like B650E with USB4. Otherwise, no matter, you can safely ignore them.

HUB did a roundup recently:

separating storage to stay organized isn't bad, but it can fill up slots quickly
