Hello All,

I'm using an MSI B650 Tomahawk WIFI mother board with AMD 7800 X3D. The PC was working fine for 4 months. Last week I was working on it and it suddenly turned off and tried to reboot it self. But the reboot failed as it was stuck with no POST and the DRAM led of EZ Debug was lit. I waited for around 10-15 minutes but it didn't change. So I powered it down and back on. But it doesn't POST anymore with red + yellow lights lit.

I started removing the parts and see if any of them are causing the issue. Initially I took out the GPU and one stick of RAM. It posted. So I removed the (working) stick and used the other one and it worked too. So I wanted to verify it all the slots were working so I tried all the combinations with A2 and B2 slots and I was able to post. So I installed the GPU back and it posted again. I rebooted it multiple time, and it was fine. I flashed the latest version of BIOS and it installed fine. But the reboot after the install it crashed again -- stuck on yellow light. I powered it back down and up again, the red + yellow lights are lit up. This time even the RAM stick solution didn't work. I took apart everything except the CPU and cooler and it was finally able to post again. I put everything back, posted successfully. I ran it for couple of hours without any issues. Today I turn it on again. I was able to boot into windows and after a couple of seconds, it turned off and the issue came back.

I'm planning to RMA the motherboard as it seems to be the culprit. However, I'm curious if there's any possibility that other components might be involved. While the system fails to POST in the current state, I'm concerned that other components might be damaged due to the intermittent power issues.

Has anyone encountered similar problems with this specific motherboard or CPU combination? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I have the same board but with a 9800X3D (PBO turned on via BIOS) and 2x16 G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB/DDR5 5600 (AMD Expo, EXPO turned on in BIOS), and the lastest BIOS update on the mobo plus AMD Chipset stuff. And I appear to have the same issue -- it seems to happen when I upgrade some software or a program and a reboot is required. When I reboot from Windows, the PC is doing what yours is doing and kind of gets stuck - not wanting to reboot. The RGB lighting will remain on but the HDD indicator light on my case will remain lit VS blinking. I have to push the power button down on the case until the PC shuts off, and then push again to reboot - and all is fine. Just curious if you found the solution to this issue?
