The prices change daily, even hourly in some cases and it depends what you're using the card for (e.g. gaming, which resolution).

That said, these particular models usually have a very large markup, so the best value is likely to the model closest to the average price for that GPU.

The cheapest one. NVIDIA has a minimum and maximum performance these GPU's need to stay at so they don't stray far from each other. If you're paying extra from a base model you're realistically only paying for gimmicks, bells, whistles, RGB, fan amount, material use and brand clout.

TLDR: The cheapest one.

Desktop: Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Kraken X62 Rev 2 - STRIX X470-I - 3600MHz 32GB Kingston Fury - 250GB 970 Evo boot - 2x 500GB 860 Evo - 1TB P3 - 4TB HDD - RX6800 - RMx 750 W 80+ Gold - Manta - Silent Wings Pro 4's enjoyer

Do you mean 4070's by themselves or particularly the ASUS ROG STRIX 4070?

id recommend you dont get your heart set on any particular brand of AIB. The actual GPU is what is most important and the factory OC's that many manufacturers provide are not really worth a more expensive card. Dont just buy asus, also look at msi or asrock for example.

I assume just Asus 4070's cause there's like 5 different models of the same card.

That really depends on your budget.

If you can't afford a 4070 Ti Super but can afford a 4070 Ti, get the 4070 Ti?

Get the best card you can afford.

The ROG STRIX cards are very good but they are also more expensive than other models like the ASUS TUF or MSI VENTUS X3 series for example.

Check the price against the average price for the GPU, e.g.

If the ROG Strix 4070 Super is $800 and the average is $550, that's BAD, especially if the ROG Strix 4070 Ti Super is $850 and the average is $750. You get my drift?

The Strix is considered a premium model and it has a price to match. Ideally, you'd get some kind of clearance deal that pushes it very close to the average, like just $50 or so.

For 1080p, just a 4070 is fine.

For 1440p, ideally the 4070 Super, but the non-Super is alright.

For 4K, best to have the 4070 Ti Super or a 4080 Super, though the 4070 Super can do this resolution, especially when upscaling is used.

The most important point is: do NOT overpay, especially if you're paying an amount that would get you a superior card from another brand.

I can't see monitor/resolution, what is it?

According to TPU's GPU database here (no ray tracing or upscaling):

4070 non-Super: 55% faster

4070 Super: 79% faster

4070 Ti Super: 110% faster

7900 XT: 116% faster

4080 Super: 148% faster

I would suggest at least a 4070 Super, ideally, because you want a decent uplift, no?

But, what exactly are you struggling with? In other words: what games/circumstances are too slow right now?

With a 7800X3D, you could run any of those cards, but it depends what you want to spend and what the point of this upgrade is. Something like a 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super is A LOT of money to spend, especially when we're due new cards in the coming months.

Ok so you should have specified that. The Ti and Super variants are completely different graphics card than the 4070. I thought you were asking from which AIB and what variant of the 4070 specifically you want.

Aren't the 4070 and the 4070 Ti discontinued and no longer much in stock? They were replaced by the mid generation refresh by releasing 4070 super and the 4070 Ti Super, and the good thing is that they are a bit better in terms of price to performance.

So maybe you should for a 4070 Super and a 4070 Ti Super. It will ultimately boil down to your budget. Both are quite good for price to performance today.

Yo!

i'd like to make an addition:

The Cheapest one - that's quiet enough for you.

If you chose a Chip like 4070, and don't know which Model, do NEVER go for performance. It's all the same 4070 Chip, it's the same Performance. If any Manufacturer has an expensive Model with +100 Mhz OC, you can do that yourself, no problem. Max OC is useless anyway, it destroys every efficiency.

The difference are the Cooling performances and Nosie levels. there are loud models, there are quiet ones.

Find the cheapst Model, that's quiet enough for you. (plus, you can Undervolt a little bit, to reduce power consumption, heat, and therefore also Fan noise.

If you're not that sensitive if you hear the card, it won't matter much, especially if you Undervolt.

White models:
- Inno3D TwinX (OC) white (more like white / Silver mix)

- Palit Dual White (entry model, probably like 1700 rpm Fan speed @ Stock . Not extremely bad, but not Quiet.

- KFA² (or Galax outside of Europe) Ex Gamer with 3 Fans is VERY solid, and good noise levels. Also on the cheaper side.

- Asus Dual White OC (not the Evo model, it has a smaller Cooler) is solid for a 2-Fan Model. Quite good noise levels i have the black one, and i don't hear it during Gaming with UV. Fans stay at 1100-1200 rpm.

here in Germany, 4070 is nott much cheaper than 4070 Super, but the Super is 17%~ faster. Take the Super if you find a good Price.

If the Super Variant costs you 10% more, but has 17% more Performance, then do NOT get the non-Super.
