Problem: constant game crashes but only when games are on a Gen 4 drive.

Troubleshooting:litteraly everything, reset windows, different SSDs, using the Gen 4 ssds in another pc to know they are working, checked connections, ran diskcheck command, used Samsung magician software check. I litteraly have been trying to fix this for so long. I've narrowed it down to somehow either my CPU or motherboard is having problems with a Gen 4 lane, but not any that would affect the Gen 3. All gen 3 drives work in either m.2 slot, however 980 and 990 pro brand new work in neither slots

CPU is 5600x mobo is Asus b550 prime. GPU 3070.

I don't know who to ask since this is so specific and now really any way to know for sure what's wrong, I just don't know what to do from here, ive only tested 1 gen 3 drive that was already being used as my boot drive, so it's possible no other drives work. Any ideas what could possible cause this?

Maybe try using crystal disk info to see if it detects anything. Try updating to the lastest motherboard bios.

If still nothing then I have literally no idea, could be the CPU, could be a defect in the motherboard, ram maybe

Was thinking the same thing, updating it right now but doubt it will fix it since it worked for like a year before it just started having issues but worth a shot
