Apologies for the formatting I am using mobile.

I'm using an Asus prime b550m-a wifi motherboard.

My pc lost power while booting and it's in automatic repair mode but doesn't do anything. Booting into the bios all my drives, cpu, and ram is detected.

But I did notice my ssd is not in the boot priority while my HDD is there. Booting that doesn't do anything for me. I decided to do a clean install of windows and created a flashdrive for it. However, while installing windows, my pc would restart and will be in that limbo again.

Thank you!

If there's an option to change to CSM or UEFI do it and see if new devices pop up in bios boot menu.

Hello,

I have 2 HDD and 1 SSD, I had a feeling it was a hardware issue so I brought it to a close pc builder. They took out the ssd and replaced it with their own. It won't boot to desktop unless one of my hdd is removed so I think that hdd is dead.

The issue still persists after using my ssd so we replaced it with a new one. However we still couldn't install windows and the PC would freeze or randomly restart during installation. Their own SSD with windows already installed boots to desktop no problems but it was late at night already so no further testing was made.

If the computer is old or if there is old components in the computer, or, components that have been giving you grief prior to this happening can you address them?

Are you sure it's not the motherboard sata connectors and not the drives themselves, assuming the SSD is also sata? This is a flimsy assumption but we don't know your computer at all yet. I'm under the suspicion that the computer was set to dual boot and wouldn't boot without the other drives working correctly but I'm probably wrong considering you had a guy look at it in the flesh.

So just so we have a baseline, their SSD is working, OS is stable but you still can't use your storage HDDs in conjunction with the new SSD? If that's the case I'd try buying some new sata cables and troubleshooting the connectors.

I agree that it could be a variety of reasons, there's a lot to be tested to figure out exactly what went wrong. I'm using an nvme ssd.

Yes their nvme ssd is working in conjunction with my HDD. It boots their OS to desktop. I had a new nvme ssd installed in the same slot their ssd was used, but the issue with installing windows persists. I don't know if I mentioned it but the power got cut off while the pc was still booting up.

I might be wrong about this but Windows installations get locked to the motherboard they're installed on, the product key that is. If it's possible I would try to boot up Windows on the old SSD if it's still working alone without the HDDs and uninstall Windows before reinstalling Windows on a brand new SSD with the same product key. You can find your product key on the package of the media disk for Windows or you can download programs to unlock your ability to see your actual product key on the system itself.

Since Windows 11 this all could have changed but why not troubleshoot and give it a try to see if it fixes the issue.

Unless you were updating your BIOS there's no issue with the power cutting out.

The old SSD is already wiped clean, I can get critical files back from the cloud. I'm still running Windows 10

Their OS boots to desktop no issue. But whenever I try to install windows on my old ssd it restarts (not the regular part of installation), or freezes.

I had them install a new ssd straight from the box and it also can't install windows. We used my flashdrive and their flashdrive as well to try the installation and also used several usb ports. But the problem persists
