Something (maybe BT/Wireless adapter) is causing a usb controller to crash repeatedly if computer is under any load and I'm all but done.

Hadouken434

Been chasing this issue most of the year now. Using USB Tree View it seems that my BT/Wireless adapter triggers that USB controller to crash repeatedly along with everything connected to it which is my CPU cooler and internal usb hub. Happens every time i boot up a game, hell it happens if I'm watching YouTube and open a second webpage with an embedded video

Also having an affect on VR, I'll get a single stutter/hitch at random point (could be 10 minutes, could be an hour) and i lose all audio through the headset and windows. That's if I've got the headset working at all with all the USB shenanigans. Only remedy seems to be a reboot. Unsure if connected issues or not

Just to be clear: The controller disconnects every device connected to it one at a time then immediately reconnects in the same order, over and over again until i stop what I'm doing, like gaming, or the controller itself dies and doesn't come back until a reboot.

Specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500

Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2 rev 1.2

Corsair Vengeance 3200 32gb (2x16gb)

Pilat GTX 3060 12gb

Corsair RM850e PSU

Corsair H150i Elite cooler

Corsair Commander Pro (internal USB hub)

Corsair lighting node core (For Corsair SP 140 Pro fans which are plugged into the Commander Pro)

Oculus Rift S

Everything else peripherals wise I moved off the crashing USB controller to other controllers and a powered USB hub - Original theory was frankly too many USB devices on one controller overloading and that causing the crash. Hence the internal and external hubs = no change

Once I'd worked out is was only 1 controller dropping i moved all i could off it so at least my keyboard/mouse don't constant disconnect and reconnect

Fresh windows install (Win 11 Pro), Latest bios (FGd 09/02/2024), XMP enabled, Resize BAR enabled. All drivers upto date

Disabling the BT/Wireless adapter in device manager makes no change

Both Meta link app and Corsairs iCue really aren't helping either.

In the screen capture - The Win notification sound is a USB malfunction warning - Assumed for the Rift as I'd lost tracking and Displayport connection

Ring any bells for anyone? Something stand out I am missing?

Does the issue still occurs if you turn BT off (or disable the driver) ?

Also, where are your USB stuff plugged ?

I did have some weird interference between 2.4GHz dongles (for kb and headset), my headphones were disconnecting/reconnecting after some time, solved it by just plugging one dongle farther away from the other...

Yea disabled in device manager and still happens. Was a little confused to see it registered as a usb device as it's part of the motherboard/not a dongle

The majority of my devices are plugged into a usb hub. I used USB treeview to work out which usb ports belong to which controller so i can move as much as i could of the problematic one, unfortunately every internal device is still connected to it
I don't use anything wireless (unless i turn bt on and hook up a JBL speaker.. which works perfectly..)
