Samsung Odyssey 28" G70B - Flickering issues & randomly losing display

Hello, I've currently been having issues with my new monitor. It's at random, flickering on and off (like what you'd expect during a driver update). Sometimes, the monitor completely loses signal from the computer. Here's the catch though, the monitor says it has no display connection but windows sees the monitor in display settings. Reloading video drivers via ctrl + shift + win + b doesn't work to restore video, however toggling a setting such as HDR on and off from windows display settings, or rebooting the machine works. I've also noticed the monitor display flickering brighter then darker against some colors. All this behavior is intermittent.

What I've tried

  • Checking DisplayPort cable connection
  • Reinstalling GPU drivers
  • Removing the device from device manager, and allowing windows to detect it and set it up again.

This machine is using a 4080 Super for it's GPU.

Any help is appreciated!

~Thanks!

Have you tried re-seeding the graphics card or even possibly changing out the cable. This sounds more like it could be a hardware issue than anything.

I haven't attempting reseating the GPU (mainly because other connected monitors work okay) however I should try a new DP cable. Thank you for your reply!

Here's a video demonstration of this behavior. I had just had my monitors signal cut out, then had it return after unplugging and plugging back in the DisplayPort cable. After it came back, flickering began. This same flickering sometimes occurs prior to it fully losing signal as well. Help!
