Constant Driver Timeouts in World of Warcraft.

Bennyxc00

I made this post on /r/AMD a while back. For a brief period of time, resetting my RAM via Ryzen Master seemed to do the trick - I think I had only 1 crash during the pre-patch over a period of two weeks, felt like I was in heaven. But

the issue came back to haunt me with The War Within's launch.

And the saga continues. I am very, very desperate. Between the occasional guy dropping in saying they've got no issues and the issue receiving no attention, no public acnowledgement from all parties involved and of course, no fixes, I'm losing my mind.

And since making that reddit thread, of course, I've followed and installed all other updates - chipset drivers, GPU drivers, motherboard BIOS, whatever.

I don't know what else to include here. At this point I'm convinced that something must have been slightly burnt during those two system shutdowns but I really can't quite pinpoint what it is. Maybe it's just the RAM that isn't on the QVL list for my Motherboard.

Anyway, posting here to get a few more eyes on the issue. Any feedback is very much appreciated, but suffice to say that after so long, I've given up hope of resolving this issue.

I'd say probably something between 5 and 10 seconds? Not more. The game is running fine after the wait although sometimes I've observed some odd behaviors.

For one, keeping down the left mouse button (so as to adjust the camera angle) fails to make the cursor disappear and scrolling it horizontally pops it from left to right and from right to left.

Another one is that in the past, sometimes, I noticed that GPU power draw was way less after a TDR occuring. It went from 250W to 150W or something along those lines.

Only on very, very rare occasions it has happened that the game behaved like I didn't have a dedicated GPU and only recognized the iGPU of my 7800X3D, which was solved by Alt+F4 and restarting the game.

But overall, yes it's running and the performance is there.

Can you tell us the rest of your specs? It's interesting that even with an NVIDIA card you still get the same issue. Maybe it's got more to do with other hardware afterall.

Is it possible your CPU was affected by the whole oxidation - silicon degradation issue with Intel?

I dont think so. The 3-4 sec with black screen is not one of the symptoms.

And my gigabyte card also have that error were it just turns off, maybe once a week
