Budget Gaming PC Build for Racing Sims and FPS (India)

Budget (including currency): $1500, give or take $100

Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: primarily for racing simulations and FPS games

Other details

Hey, Linus Tech Tips community,

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC (preferably a all white build) primarily for racing simulations and FPS games. I'm based in India and have a budget of around $1500, give or take $100. I'm also interested in streaming and making videos.

I've been doing some research but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options available. I'd love to get some recommendations from experienced builders on the best components for my needs within this budget.

Hard to give you exact build as pcp has no Indian sellers

What I can tell you is that for sim games you NEED a 3D chip, I'd say 5700X3D with your limited budget

Then a good mid-high GPU like a 7800XT or 4070S

At least 16GB RAM in 2x8 at 3600CL16 if possible

1TB NVMe at least (any will do for gaming)

And 650W+ PSU, Gold rated

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

I appreciate your recommendations, but I am looking for a more specific specification. I don't mind prices from any source, as they are very slightly variable in India currently compared to other countries.

Then tell us where we can find what's available for you, and at what price

You can use any source you want to use like Amazon, Pcpartpicker or any other source I will adjust the price to myself that's why I have made a variable budget of 100 dollars. I want a specific part list that's all I need which can make a good all white build for around 1500 bucks

All the above prices (in ₹) are from Amazon India Website.

This Pure performance build is what i personally use. I got it for around 1700$ but mine had an AIO which was stupidly expensive so excluding that the price should be round 1600$. I dont know the current pricing  of the "Pure perfromance list" in India. I would personally reccomend not buying the CPU - R7 7800X3D from amazon since its significantly more expensive.

The only difference b/w the ALL WHITE and Pure Performance build is that it switched the 7600x for 7800x3d. Technically speaking the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is far superior than the 7600x for gaming. Personally i would give up all the asthethic looks for that upgrade. Buuut the issue with 7800x3d is that the difference in performance is ONLY seen in games. For workflows there is barely any difference between the two.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes : If your tech savvy and willing to tweak some settings then look into the more higher end CPU - 7950X3D. Its actually CHEAPER than the 7800x3d in India. Yes there are disadvantages, the 7950x3d is SLOWER than the 7800x3d in games when compared directly but you can disable the cores in 7950x3d to match the gaming performance of 7800x3d.

You may ask why go for the hassle of buying the 7950x3d over 7800x3d. I.e beacuse for workflows like editing, the 7950x3d is much much faster the the 7800x3d because of the higher clock speed and more number of cores.

So essentialy the 7950X3d needs to be tweaked with for it to perform better in games but if your willing to make that sacrifice then its a no-brainer deal since outside gaming its in a whole different league. Linus himself has a video going deeper into this, so look into it in detail if you want an overall better pc.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Yes this is a hassle and if your not interested then please ignore this topic.
