This Elijah guy is so overly goofy and funny that it becomes distracting to watch the damn video. He should control is laugh maybe. I can even see all the memes on his face. Truly an introvert's nightmare.

Made an account to be able to post here. I may be biased because Elijah has been my favorite addition to the LTT team as of recent, but his passion for collecting, good spirited nature, and YEARN for a rackmount setup made this my favorite Tech Upgrade video by far. I respect that his overall decisions were based on "What would bring me joy," and not "How can I get the most out of this." The overall organization of his setup and the passion for having it the way he wants it makes me appreciate his addition to the team so much more. His streaming setup has given me a lot of inspiration for the setup that I have been planning out as well. 

 

If I had to have a criticism for the build, it would be the double keyboard instead of a usb switch (heres the one I use), and the use of the special edition gpu in a closed case. 

 

I have been looking at the Sliger CX4150a for awhile, and seeing the pink colorway on the Sliger case made me question if it was a Sliger or some other brand due to pink not being a normal option. I am going to reach out and see if they would be willing to do another pink cover because it looks a lot better than I thought it would. 

This was also the video that finally got me to subscribe to Floatplane to see the extras. I can't wait to see what other whacky stuff happens with Elijah on the crew.

I just went down a rabbit hole after watching this upgrade and came out the other side buying a 5950x  I blame Elijah for having such an awesome setup.

 

My thought train went.... Nice server setup and rack.... I've been meaning to build a server that isn't a power hog.... I need another AM4 cpu for a build I'm doing for a buddy.... might as well upgrade the machine I'm on so it can run as a server next year.  Thanks Elijah lol

Didn't the Belle Keyboard show up in another recent Tech Upgrade video? Idk if I am misremembering, but I swear someone else claimed to have bought it from inventory.

Elijah having it has come up a couple times before, I think.

@Psittac For games: You might want to restrain it to a single CCD. There can be a significant latency/frame time consistency penalty if it runs on both CCDs.

depends on the games.

most of the games i play. you will never notice it. due to them being older and not really caring due to not really tied to fps

Anyone know what that black case is?  Er the open air PC case... it looks (pun intended) pretty cool.

 

That man also needs a raise. And, how do put this, tooth whitening. I hope he doesn't have halitosis and just likes tea, or used to smoke. Either was derpmaster 5000 was a golden find by LTT.

 

I'm kind of surprised he didn't try to make a customized keyboard! A acrylic chasse and ghost or cloud Tai Hoa caps with mx greens?  Depending on weather he started with a barebones kit or sourced it all from place like epomaker, akko, and ali express, can even set it up to have rainbow keycaps and a neon green chassis.

They have. Luke and Linus dunked on him a mystery set up. Commentors dunked on it. It was mentioned in passing in a recent upgrade. I can't remember if it was collin or before that. Luke and Linus dunked on it on a wanshow. Honestly the chassis is really pretty. and does have somewhat retrovibes. I think from the form factor and colorscheme.

I've gotten to know some stuff, but am far from omniscient, so don't take my advice as gospel and wait for other opinions - I just like throwing in my two cents when I can.

 Teeth whitening is more of United States thing. Other countries dental practices don't worry about it since it actually has nothing to do with the health of your teeth.

I've said it in other threads but I don't expect everyone to see it, so I'll say it again. 

I can't use whitener, or whitening toothpaste.... The chemicals used in it conflict with medication I take. I also have SUPER sensitive teeth. And whitening chemicals hurt my teeth like crazy. So cool my choices to make people like my looks better are to be un healthy with my Anti-psychosis medication or be in pain, but I'm glad my teeth are white.... I still brush my teeth every day, and EVERYONE I know in person has said it doesn't appear yellow in person at all.
