Fps drops when i move my camera in fortnite

HoffmannMS
Go to solution Solved by HoffmannMS,

Ok guys the problem was the polling rate of my mouse .Looks like fortnite isnt optmized to a polling rate over 1000 hz , so setting my mouse to 1000 hz solved the issue. Thank you to everyone that tried to help!

So i wanted to try fortnite again , but when i play whenever i move my camera i have HARD fps drops to like 10/15 fps. When i first played fortnite on this exact pc this didnt happen.

Here is my config:
r 5 5600 (slight Oc)
rx 6750 Xt
32 gb ram

i have used 2 different drivers : the most recent 24.8.1 and 24.6.1
Edit: Also tried performance mode , dx11 and dx12

check is Vsync is on, if theres a delay when you move your mouse i'd probably blame it since it can cause frame drops and input delay especially on lower end cards or older systems

have you checked the temps? I would also maybe recommend reinstalling the game and seeing if that fixes your issue. also this probably goes without saying but check to make sure your plugged into your graphics card and not the motherboard video out

I was about to reinstall the game it may work. About the temps : cpu is on 55 C avg and the gpu 60 C avg . Also both the gpu and the cpu dont pass the 80% usage 99% the time.

If the reinstall doesn't work, can you see what GPU the game's using? (CPU's or the actual GPU)

I dont know if you checked but i have a 5 5600 , so it does not have an iGpu so the gpu is the only graphics it can use. Ill tell you if the reinstall works

slight Oc

well try without that...

fortnite is known to be quite stuttery, but it shouldn't drop that much tbh so I also believe something isn't right.

32gb ram, how many sticks?

yeah there's a reason most mice have 1000hz polling rate max lol, glad you found a fix though.
