Touchpad stopped working - Lenovo Legion Slim 7 Gen 8 (16APH8)

my laptop's touchpad stopped working I have a Lenovo Legion slim 7 gen 8 (16APH8)
i have tried uninstalling and then "scan for hardware changes" the I2C HID Device in device manager ---didn't work
trying to use the touchpad in the bios which it normally used to work --- didn't work
Trying to use it in an POP os live usb ---didn't work
haven't reinstalled windows
a few days ago it just stopped working after some time it started working yesterday it stopped working and over the course of the day started and stopped working randomly today it has completely stopped working
help i am 20 days out of warranty:(

You can try reseating both ends of the touchpad ribbon cable and inspect it for damage or wear. The touchpad itself might also need to be replaced. Also inspect the area of the board that the ribbon cable plugs into.

I didn't ask if it was worth fixing, I asked for help fixing it.
