HP 11 X360 Keyboard Not Working Except on Startup

_Luke_

Hi all,

I recently bought a bundle of spares laptops which included a HP 11 X360. I've repaired the issue that was described with it although now am running into another problem with the keyboard.

The keyboard doesn't seem to function at all, it doesn't work in the boot menu to select a device, it doesn't work in the BIOS, doesn't work in Windows, etc. So of course you'd think as it doesn't even work in BIOS the keyboard must be faulty, here's the strange bit. It does work when booting up the laptop, for example pressing the esc key does bring up the pause startup menu. Once in this menu though the keyboard no longer works and you have to use the touchscreen.

I have checked in Device Manager on Windows and the keyboard does appear to be recognised, as can be seen adding to the mystery.

I have also noticed when I press caps lock on my external keyboard, the caps lock light on the caps lock key on the laptops keyboard does turn on.

I feel like I've tried everything I can think of at this point from updating drivers, reinstalling windows, trying Linux and even updating the BIOS but nothings worked. Any suggestions would be much appricated.

I will also add the Touchpad also doesn't appear to be working although I believe this to be a hardware fault. I just don't want to replace that until I know if the keyboard even works. IMG_20240916_204308.thumb.jpg.10f6c175f45c2a8ff55f6f635207cc7e.jpg
