Fan RPMs not showing up in BIOS. Is the hub to blame?

Brixbuster
Go to solution Solved by matt0725,

i believe a hub will only report 1 fan (or maybe the average of connected fans) RPM, but it doesnt really matter in the end, as they are all going to be spinning roughly the same RPM anyway, as they get controlled off of the same plug. If you want each fan to be controlled on its own, youll need enough extensions for those shorter fan leads, plus enough fan headers on your motherboard

Really bummed if so because this is my best cable management job ever. Plus, some fan cables were too short to reach the mobo anyway. Should I bite the bullet and get some extensions or is there a way to make the hub work?

IMG_2718.jpegThe case has two intake and one exhaust fan.

Yes, a PWM fan hub will only report a single RPM which is to be expected as they’re all going to be controlled by a single header.

The hub only plugs into one header on the mobo so as far as the mobo is concerned there is only that one fan, it doesn't realise that there are more than that connected. Usually the hub will indicate which fan it uses to send the signal to the mobo, my old hub uses to have a different colour header to show this.
