Trying to setup DDNS-Updater on TrueNAS Scale 24

You don't need to add anything to the Host field. You would just add your domain (e.g mydomain.com) to the Domain; and then leave the @ in the Host. 

It's not the name in the CNAME you need to put in, its your primary domain name which holds the A record (IP Address) that you're updating. 

In your case your CNAME points to your primary domain so they're the same. But for completeness of answering the question; the CNAME records are nothing to do with the DDNS-Updater.

Trying to setup DDNS-Updater on TrueNAS Scale 24, but I'm pretty sure I've got something wrong on the configuration.

 

Everytime I hit start, it will run for a short time and then fall back to deploying and get stuck.

 

I'm pretty sure the issue isn't with my cloudflare stuff cause my Domain does point to the correct IP and I've given DDNS-Updater the correct domain, Zone ID, Email, and API key (and I believe the permissions are set correctly on the cloudflare site).

 

The one thing I don't understand is the "Host" field? Anyone know what should go here?

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Trust but Verify! Expand for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components and other tech. I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Please try to be clear and specific, you'll get a better answer. Please remember to mark solutions once you have the information you need.

 

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

Its for if you want to update a particular record against the Domain. 

say your domain is lttstore.com; and you want to keep beta.lttstore.com up to date; your domain is lttstore.com; your host is beta. 

In reality this is primarily for the likes of dynamic dns providers like duckdns, dyndns, no-ip, etc...where you will be using something like myhostname.duckdns.org
