Hideous 1% lows on RTX 4090 / i9 14900K

blueoak

Hey,

yeah you read that right I'm getting 20, yes 20 fps as 1% lows in Rocket League while having 1300 (ingame) - 1700 (freeplay) fps. This makes it basically unplayable as it feels so stuttery (don't know if this is due to my lack of VRR on 240hz or whatever, just feels that way). I thought I was going mental but I popped up Afterburner statistics and my 1% lows are actually incredibly low, as stated prior. I really don't know what to do, I tried reinstalling drivers, resetting BIOS. GPU utilization is only around 60-70% at 48-60 Celsius while the CPU is around 70-80 Degrees which seems a bit high for a game like RL to me, but I don't really know all that much when its comes to temps, clk speeds and shit...

Maybe this has to do with Intel 13/14th series but I thought there was a micro-code update to fix that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Limit the FPS to 300, unless you have a monitor with 360hz/480hz, there is pretty much not point going beyond that, the latency decrease for rocket league will not affect your gameplay going above 300 fps.

What else is running? Do you have a browser with a  video  playing, Music app, Discord etc.

@Shimejii @Bagzie thanks for the recommendations, but I forgot to add that that was the first thing I did, still happens at 360 capped

Also, I just thought of trying this, the game seems to run fine in the Epic Games Version (can't get Afterburner OSD up somehow) which would make it steam-related. I tried checking file integrity but it seems to be fine

Take off all the flashy effects off the car and see if its that causing it o.o Other then that You are going to have to monitor the CPU and GPU and such for when the dips happen and see whats causing it.
