My new motherboard not turn on after I put it in to case.

YesMyNameNewbie

Hello My Friends,

When i try my new motherboard outside the case, my new motherboard turn on normal.

But when i put it into my old case, my motherboard not turn on.

My old motherboard seems not have any issue like my new motherboard.

Is there any related problem with my case grounding? because my case is lenovo thinkcentre case and fully made from metal.

Are the standoffs in the correct location? Are you using ONLY the standoffs that are needed for the new motherboard, nothing more? Do you have the power switch connected correctly?

yes my friend, the standoff is in the correct location.
but there is no standoff in some screw, i dunno maybe because lenovo want it.
I count there is 2 Standoff like image attach, else is directly screw on the case.

the old lonovo motherboard works, but why new motherboard does not ? hmmm

When you are using it out side of the case, are you powering it on by the case switch or a screwdriver on the pins? It could be that the front panel connection is non-standard on the lenovo.

I am using another I/O Switch.

when i put it into the case, i still using another i/o Switch.

Is the problem about grounding my friend? I am afraid that there is some soldered part contacting with the case.

That would be my guess. That is why I asked about the standoffs. Check very carefully what is contacting. If you want to eliminate stuff, try laying some thick paper down in the bottom of the case. Something like kraft paper or the like. You will need to poke holes where the screws go, but it should isolate the board.

Are you trying to start with all the accessories (HDD,SSD,FANs etc.) when in case or are you trying the barebone setup ?
