Gaming Laptop as a Capture Card for PC?

Mystixals

I wanted to see if I could possibly use my gaming laptop as a Capture Card for my main PC for live streaming or recording rather than going out to buy an actual capture card? I’ve never used a capture card before, however, I wanted to know if it would be possible.

Highly unlikely. Does your laptop have hdmi input? That would be exceedingly rare if it did.

Basically you're after a software local streaming option. I have seen https://ndi.video/ suggested in the past but I never used it myself. There may be some overhead on the game system that wont be present if you bought a hardware capture device, which isn't expensive if 1080p60 is sufficient.

As noted, you would still need capture card since video inputs are pretty much non-exsitent in most consumer grade laptops. Local streaming is a thing. But in reality, unless you are super-hotshot streamer and/or stream with group where you need to get all your streams in one layout, you don't need more than one PC. Most modern PCs are fine with level or quality that you need as midrange or rising star streamer. People come to watch you, not your video quality.
