First time building Small Form Factor! Advice and Build Please!

Budget (including currency): 600€ +- 100€ (most parts already owned)

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Gaming, University, Music Making

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hey! So i already own a pretty powerful mashine actually, exact parts will be listed below. But I've always wanted to build a small form factor mashine, I love the aesthetic and building them, seems like a nice challenge. So I want to turn most of my parts into an small form factor! All parts ill need to sell, ill sell and the ones I need will be purchased.

I don't need the smallest PC possible, but def. smaller than my nzxt h510 case at the moment. I got a strong no RGB policy, what i like though is white light (not a lot though). So I am not sure to go Micro ATX or Mini ITX, since I dont know really what the difference is in building except for the slightly smaller size, Is one more available or better than the other? For the case, I like my aesthetic a lot and a must is a white case, I dont need a glass panel. If I find any cases or builds of small form factors I like, I'll leave them down there!

Please also consider that I dont want do to any big water cooling, so no tubes and all that, i dont wanna mess with water in my PC.

I think thats almost it, any builds and advice is greatly appreciated and i hope everyone here has a great day!

My current normal sized setup.

I would actually like to keep my CPU and GPU and two NVME SSD's so just you know

GeForce RTX™ 3060 VENTUS 2X 12G OC

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz   3.60 GHz with Stock cooler installed

MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS

Just 4 random sticks of RAM (32gb DDR4)

Tbh no clue what power supply, but a cheap bronce one with only 500watts so i have to upgrade either way there i think

Small form factor is fun, however if you're not going to at least use an AIO you might run into some cooling issues; most air coolers just can't hold a candle to an AIO in this form factor. Also, MATX cases really aren't that much smaller than a small ATX case, so I wouldn't even bother considering them. There's also very poor motherboard options. You'll have to upgrade the PSU as most is SFX power supplies.

Thanks! AIO is fine if it’s a must, I just don’t wanna mess with directly pouring water into tubes and bending them and what not.
I wanted to get a new PSU either way since mine is slightly underpowered and not that good in general.

any build recommendations?

Honestly, not really. You've got an old CPU, so you'll be using an older used/NOS motherboard in your new build, something that you'll have to source yourself. I'd personally swap out whatever fans come on whatever AIO you get, so I'd just make sure you get a reputable one, not worrying too much about it's overall performance since those metrics won't be the same once you swap out the fans. For PSU, get the best one you can afford, and I'd try and find one that has a fan that won't run until it's under load. Your PC is going to be a LOT louder than before, unless you kept the massive tower also on your desktop.

You can get some good low profile noctua coolers, so it's not entirely impossible. Depending on the cpu you want.

In terms of psu. I have a Asus Loki 750w. It's a sfx-l and it's super quiet. Can recommend. And I guess the whole rma thing is less of an issue in the EU. Is Germany like Denmark, in that you only deal with the retailer for RMA?

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)
