Check DisplayPort version and DSC support when manufacturer doesn't list it?

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

If you've confirmed the DP output is connected to the GPU then you only need to look up the spec of the GPU, which you've done.

I am planning on buying one of the new 2k 360Hz OLEDs.

I have an HP Omen 15 (2020) en0036ax. It has a 1660 Ti (mobile). HP does not explicitly say if the miniDP port is DP version 1.4 in the full specifications.

It only says "1 Mini DisplayPort™; 1 HDMI 2.0a;"

However it also mentions "1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge);"

So it confirms that DP 1.4 is available through USB-C, if that's worth something.

Additionally, such a high bandwidth with DP 1.4 also requires DSC. Nvidia's official page for the laptop GPU does say that it's DP 1.4a and DSC 1.2 ready (under Specs > View Full Specs)

Connecting a monitor via the port does make additional settings show up in Nvidia control panel so the port is directly connected to the GPU. I have a couple of friends with monitors but none are even close to the bandwidth I am looking for so can't simply plug in and check.

So is there any way to check if my DP port supports enough bandwidth without having the monitor?
