Samsung TV doesn't support x265 video with 5.1?

Sounds about right with dumb as bricks tvs that call themselves smart. Basically just get a mini pc from ebay for cheap and avoid all this hassle.

Hey

I got an external HDD connected to a TV, and every time I tried to play a video it said "audio unsupported", I went through the manual and apparently, and I find this extremely stupid, Samsung says (along the lines of):

- HEVC UHD up to 5.1, HEVC FHD up to 4.1

Does that seriously mean that 1080p movies in 5.1 won't work, but 4k 5.1 will?

Does that mean all my backed up blu-rays won't actually play on the TV?

What kind of moronic thing is this, a lower resolution should be able to give more leeway in terms of data streaming so if anything it's the reverse that shouldn't be possible (UHD 4.1 and FHD 5.1), what the hell is this?
