Any other, more simple way besides AutoHotKey to stop Discord from going "Idle"?

I still can't believe that Discord doesn't have any control over its build-in "Idle" feature. I know you can trick it with AutoHotKey for example by simulating a button-press every X minutes but I wonder if there's any simpler solution for this. My group of Discord friends and people oftentimes would message me way later than they intended saying: "I thought you weren't there because you were set to Away" when in fact I was at my computer but just watching a video.

Has anybody found some other workarounds for this?

I'm a little confused what the issue is. Do you want to avoid receiving messages at a late time or do you want to show as online to indicate that you are available to receive those messages?

If you don't want to receive those messages at inappropriate times, close discord. You don't need to keep it open 24/7. The messages will be there waiting for you when you're ready to read them.

AFAIK it will only go to idle if you're in online status. If you just want to stop it from showing idle you can set it to do not disturb or create a custom status (call it "Online" if you want).

I think they want to stop the status from changing to idle while he is AFK watching a movie on his computer.

To Fix you can open to your discord profile and tap "Set Status" then tap the last option i.e. "Custom status" then Name it as "Online" and in place of emoji set a green dot just by searching green in search tab. or join voice chat

Thanks for the reply both of you. Yes it's like Nuzicx says, I want to stop going idle altogether while watching movies or a video. The idea with a custom status is a neat trick I suppose, I haven't thought about that, thank you!

It just baffles me that such a basic functionality is missing from Discord when all IM apps from days old gave the users control over the Away State. Looking around online Discord users apparently have been complaining about that for years but Discord seems to be unwilling to change it for whatever reason.
