cannot pair 1more comfobuds pro bought at ltt garage sale in July

the99er

I have been unable to pair these since I bought them.  They're supposed to flash red and blue when in pairing mode.  But they only flash blue.

Here's what I've tried while they were in the case:

  • press the case button 3 times
  • hold down the case button for 8 seconds and more to get it to clear all previous pairings
  • press the case button 3 times, wait a few seconds, and repeat
  • left them in the case and plugged the case in leaving it for 2 days, the light was green after this
  • repeated all the above after charging them in the case

Their model number appears to be ES901.

Were these even tested with the pairing process, before selling them, is what I'd like to know.

from my understanding, the idea behind the garage sale was that everything was as-is?

they probably either didnt even get them out the box (happens when manufacturers just ship them stuff without asking), or they worked when they last used them (for an unboxing or review).

but to give some advice, these are apparently *extremely* problematic, to the point that i can find several reports of people returning these, and getting a replacement that's broken too. there's several mentions of people who didnt use theirs for a week or so, only to find them to be broken after the brief lack of usage. among the reports some people mention that just retrying a few times and/or having 'just the right timing' seems to sometimes work...

just a curiousity, how much did you pay for these?

$52.42 Canadian.  I think they had been opened before because they didn't have the plastic covering on the charging part of each ear bud.

Now trying to convince 1more to exchange these.  They have terrible customer service.   They expect you to go through the retailer you bought it from for the entire warranty period of 1 year.  Most retailers only give 30 days where you return the product if it's not working.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got an update!  Good news everyone!

At the LTT Store Popup, I talked to Alex, that works at LMG Labs.  He said to email him that day, which I did.

On Tuesday, he got back to me.  He said that he had the 1more aero bluetooth earbuds that I could exchange for the 1more bluetooth earbuds that weren't working.

So today (Friday), I drove out to LMG Labs.  Was invited in and was able to test and verify that the exchanged bluetooth earbuds work.  Got to hang out for a few minutes talking to some of the staff there, and unexpectedly Elijah stopped by.

Thanks LTT!
