Can someone please give me the TLDR on projectors

At work, we're looking to replace an old ViewSonic projector (I believe it's around 3,200 lumens). I'll be measuring the distance from the wall tomorrow. The projector is roof-mounted and runs HDMI back to the comms cabinet.

The room is a large hall filled with windows, and the sun streams through at all hours of the day, making it one of the least favourable environments for a projector.

After doing some quick research, I'm leaning towards a 6,000+ lumen Epson laser projector.

Am I on the right track?

I'm here to get suggestions.
The budget is somewhat flexible, around $3,000 Freedom Units.

Laser is definitely the way you're going to want to go, brightest image and no bulb changes. Pretty much any high lumen output projector from a reputable brand like Optoma, InFocus, Epson, etc; not some rando-aliexpress '5000 lumen' $300 projector) should work. Use this throw distance calculator to help narrow down your search. IMO, finding a projector with the correct throw distance for screen size and existing ceiling mount location would be pretty high priority. However, if it is easy to relocate the projector/HDMI location, the closer you can get it to the screen the better your brightness will be. The only other thing to increase brightness would be possibly a new screen; but shades/blinds for the windows is really the ultimate solution. Are there any resolution requirements? Like do you need 4K+ actual resolution, or just supporting 4K+ video is fine, even if the actual resolution is like 1920x1200 or something like that.
