Hi everyone!

I currently own an amazing Oled monitor which I'd like to use with my Google Chromecast with Google TV.

How can I get the best audio out?

I have a pair of Corsair Hs80s that supports Dolby Atmos, is there a way to use them?

I thought about piping the Chromecast audio to my pc and let IT handle it, but how can I do that?

Is there a way to get true surround sound in my situation?

I was also looking into buying a 5.1 kit, could I use it with my current setup?

I feel so lost!

Any help will be appreciated whether it's a potential solution or even just an hardware recommendation, as of today I haven't made a single move.

Another option would be to return the Chromecast and scrap the idea.

I bought it in the first place to get 4k (downscaled to 1440p) and HDR, which I was led to believe it was impossible on pc.

Is there a way to just use my pc to get the bestest quality from streaming service such as true 4k (downscaled) and HDR?

For now I've been only getting 1080p streams with no HDR and stereo output, is there something I can do to fix it?

Not my forte but I've generally found using streamers to be A LOT less of a janky headache than using a PC to watch media. With that said, 1440p is supported by... basically nothing.
It's very possible that something has changed and I'm out of date.

If you're using headphones you should focus on just having 2 channel stereo audio and it being "fine" - atmos on headphones is mostly a gimmick and headphones generally work best with stereo anyway. Atmos is more of a thing if you have a dozen speakers in a $2000+ audio set up. They're actually DIFFERENT standards aimed at doing different things with somewhat similar sounding marketing names.

What kind of a display are you using? It sounds like you're using a desktop monitor as opposed to a TV which... I mean it could work but... any reason you're doing it with what seems like a desktop monitor vs a TV? I've generally found that using TVs as monitors is easier than the other way around (other than self power off being kind of "ehh"). Also often cheaper.

I'm using a monitor because that's all I have!

For the 1440p thing, my monitor 'acts like a 4k one' when connected to an hdmi source that doesn't support 1440p.

And for sound, since I'm working with a monitor my options are limited.

My monitor has a 3.5mm jack out and that's it (pretty standard for a gaming monitor) and I was hoping to find a way to get 5.1 out of the CCwGTV maybe through usb?

I wish to invest in a 5.1 setup (still no clue on what to buy, open for recommendations; the cheaper the better)
