Which one should I chose

I'm looking at a couple used GPUs right now and I need help choosing. All prices are in Canadian dollars. First there is a GTX 1080 non ti for $130 second one is the RTX 2070 non super for $240. Third is the 1080 ti for $290. Forth is the 5700 XT for $180 and finally the RTX 3070 for $330. All of these prices are negotiated down and these will be running in a PCIe 3.0 slot.

I mean it all depends on your needs, what you want to play/do imo.

I can tell you that 1080ti is not worth it at all for 290 but 3070 for 240usd/330cad is not bad if you budget allows it.

I'm trying to go for 144 fps on 1080p medium or 100 fps on 1080 high. I want at least 60 on 1080p high/ultra no RT.

With 330$ you can get a new card to pair nicely with your system, no need to go with used, especially if you're already looking at the performance range of the 5700XT, 1080Ti and 2070. Also, that performance range is about the max I would recommend pairing with a low-end CPU like that (i7 8700, R5 3600, i5 10400, ...).

 

You can get a brand new RX 6700XT or RTX 3060 12GB.

So what is the psu? Make and model please. A slight difference can mean A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE in quality

Cx 750M it's the 2023 not the 2021

In the Toronto area $250 is cheap they average $300. As for the 2070 I found a 2070S for $200 so I might go for that, only problem is it's untested but it has a Warrenty. For $330 in Canada it's almost impossible to get anything reasonable for that amount a 6700 XT is $400 on clearance.

You are going to be struggling to push 144 frames with your current build due to the slow ram and 6 core 7 year old cpu.

 

That being said you'll get reasonable results in some games just don't expect 144hz gameplay.

Get the best you can afford

 

A used 3070 or 4060Ti or 6700XT or 6750XT or 6800. Preferably the AMD cards for the extra VRAM so that performance dont nosedive at higher resolution or in newer more resource hungry games 

 

As always, there is risk involved with buying used. Do your due diligence
