Personal opinion: DeltaHub has a shady checkout

Poagie

I went and purchased the collaboration between delta hub and LTT. When I went to check out I was asked and had to click decline two separate offers to buy an additional product before I got my order confirmation. One time was shocking for how pedantic LTT can be with their advertisers on terminology. two back to back screens of having to decline an offer definitely seems against a lot of the opinions Linus and Luke have expressed on the WAN show.

i had no idea this was going on, so i decided to go and give it a look...

i'm gonna assume the product must be good, because this company has the most infuriating website and their own youtube short about the product contains an on-screen typo that *must* come from a speech to text algorithm fucking up: "support your risks".

it almost seems to be such a rush job it feels like it's a company using some AI garbage to make it seem like a collab, as opposed to an actual collab.

not impressed with this tbh.

They have been spamming my inbox since I signed up for drop notifications four days ago. Six unrelated emails since then and four unrelated emails since placing my order. Super annoying and not something I’d expect LTT to support. I am going to return my order as soon as it arrives.

attaching Deltahub hearting a pretty bad comment about LTT.

Hey all,

Just cross posting my reply to @BoBae's dedicated post on this collab (thanks again for making things easy for me to follow up on!).

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We've also seen a few other concerns about some of the company's usage of our collaboration via other sources. We were clear in terms of establishing "do's and don'ts", which included us having visibility on all promotional content using our likeness, as well as very adamant that emails we're kept to a minimum and only pertained to updates to the product launch.

We genuinely believe in the product and the value it brings; we wouldn't have collaborated if that wasn't the case! Multiple revisions to the product were made over months of planning in order to bring y'all a collaboration that both DeltaHub and LMG are proud of. That being said, we completely agree that there are glaring post-launch concerns that need to be addressed. Nowhere during our communication with them did we get the impression that these issues would present themselves.

We will be having a chat with them as soon as possible. Let's hope there was just a misunderstanding on expectations, but regardless, we will be taking action regarding any concerns over this collaboration.

A big thank you,

Steve
