Windows 11 Laptop Cannot Detect Monitor

Hi all.

Very frustrated right now with my Asus Zephyr. Not so much the hardware, but Windows 11. I have had this laptop for about 1.5 years, and have had minimal issues - just the occasional disconnect/reconnect the display, restart and we are back in business. It's actually been really great. It's got an i9 and a 3070ti mobile, 16gb DDR5.

I use it "docked", with the laptop closed, only displaying on my 3440x1440 monitor through a type C hub. Again, I have been using it like this for the best part of 2 years with very minimal, and expected hiccups. I've had other gaming laptops before and understand that they can be slightly finicky by nature, due to the driver mess that can come with them. I have now hit a wall.

The laptop has sat for about 2 weeks as I have been too busy to do any gaming. I now go to boot it up and update a game I plan to play with a buddy tonight, and I don't get any display output to my monitor. I try the standard protocol that always works. Restart the PC, reconnect, power cycle monitor, shut PC down, disconnect, reconnect, and really every combo. Nothing. So I then try a new cable, and I even try to plug the type C into the other type C port, just to see what happens. Nothing. So then I turn to drivers. I update windows, roll back my gpu driver, then update the gpu driver (all independently and combined). Nothing. I then play with the Asus power management stuff to see if maybe it isn't engaging the actual gpu, and instead is using the integrated. Nothing.

I'm kinda at a loss here and am just at witt's end with this thing. Display settings just does not detect the other display, even when I "force" it. That's what tells me it's the laptop, plus the fact that this monitor is about 2 months old and has been used like 3 times.

Any thoughts??? I'll try whatever at this point. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried plugging the monitor in directly to the laptop not using the Hub?

If that works, then the issue is with the USB C Hub.

I have not strictly tried this, though my work laptop goes through the same dock, same configuration and it works without issue. So, it seems the dock is fine.
