Thoughts on Thermaltake Astria 400?

BaidDSB

Looks nice.

I wonder if it can cool a 7800x3d or at least a 7700?

Im from india so ambient temps are at least 29 C

It will easily cool the 7700 and it should do a decent job with the 7800X3D as well 🙂

A 7700 sure a 7800x3d would be a bit harder especially with a 30c ambient.

I'd just opt for a dual tower thermalright cooler. Same or cheaper price

But then it will cover up the RGB ram... Rgb is half the reason I'm choosing this

Loose question but are you keeping the rgb simple?

As in only one brand OR using universal rgb 4 pin stuff? Because if not it will be a MESS and NO guarantee you can even control all the rgb AND be aware of performance loss from running too many rgb softwares.

Aside from that the peerless can run on a single fan in the middle. So thats fine to do and should not cover the ram.

Else well guess time for an aio. Arctics liquid freezers as well as thermalrights aio's are amongst the cheapest AND BEST out there.

Also I hop you are not doing 4xddr5 but just 2 sticks? Getting 4 sticks to run properly SUCKS and no guarantee you can even get the speed you want.

Whats your whole rgb build looking like btw? Could offer some advice to avoid a ton of headaches later trying to get the rgb to function even remotely properly.

Oh and also keep in mind colors between brands are quite different often so you can have situstions were you simply cant get thigns to match

Universal 4 pin. If i get this cooler then the rest will be all Deepcool or Cooler master fans, depending on the case i buy. Control though motherboard [asus is best i guess]

also 2 sticks of gskill ddr5

im not cooling for an AIO because my current AIO [corsairs] pump rgb died. so now i wanna stick to air coolers with rgb fan which i can replace easily if needed.

Then you may want tp have a look at a deepcool ak620 rgb if you opt for deepcool only

Also works fine with one fan

ak620 will cover the rgb ram. how will the ak400 do? for a 7700x or  7800x3d equivalent to the new ryzens

For the 9700x totally fine there is no 7800x3d followup yet so no idea.

A 7800x3d is coolable with a single tower however it can reach mach temp so a bigger tower cooler is recommended always. Else well you either have to be ok with reaching max temp and a bit lower performance or you opt for an aio again.
