Would it be suitable to replace a cpu cooler fan with a normal slim case fan instead?

I have the thermal right spirit 120 se cooler in a nr200. I can't put a fan on the right side of the tower since it blocks the atx 24 pin connector. I don't mind if it blocks the ram. What I had to instead is put the fan on the left side of the tower. I did remove the preinstalled exhaust fan. So I figured if I bought a slim case fan and use it as a cpu cooling fan instead would that work on the right side of the tower?

If you want to add a slim fan in addition to the left side fan then absolutely, this would work really well 🙂

A peerless/spirit 120 can run fine with just the middle fan. The extra fan only add 1-3c extra cooling. Adding a slim fan is likely to have no positive impact.

Thank you for the responses. I don't think the fan clips that I have will fit a slim fan. Trying to  mount a slim fan on the tower would be another challenge. I think I am going to keep it as it is.

Yeah just leave it be. What cpu do you even have? A spirit 120 is a GOOD cooler so it may be more than fine missinf 3c of cooling power 😛

Most if not all dual towers will run very well with only one fan 🙂  They tested this on a Noctua NH-D15 and on average I think we saw a 2-3c difference with two fans compared to one.

As said, if temperatures are good then just leave it as is 🙂

Yeah easily done on a spirit 120 with 1 fan

Not a high wattage CPU. One fan should be plenty plenty 🙂

Well in current context no but like when it came out it was considered quite high wattage 😛

Now an i5 gets there 😛

Absolutely.  95w seems like super energy efficient compared to modern intel CPU's 😄

In reality it did like 140w depending on power profile but still WAY efficient compared to today
