CPU or GPU Upgrade

I am planning to upgrade, which should I upgrade?

Ryzen 5600x to 7800x3d?

Or

3080ti to 4070 ti Super?

I mainly use my pc for gaming and CAD, and will use the old parts for my son's pc.

Thanks.

3080 Ti is still a very strong GPU. I would definitely go for a 7800x3d over the 4070 Ti Super.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).

I love Photography (Using a Canon 60D)

Love F1, my favourite team is Ferrari and my favourite driver is Leclerc

If you have the 5600X that means you can upgrade to the 5700X3D or 5800X3D.

If you're on 1080p, spend the rest of your money on a monitor.

This !!

If you have a 5600X that means you have a AM4 motherboard.
The best gaming CPU for an AM4 motherboard is the 5800X3D.
This is a decent upgrade without needing to spend a lot of money on a new motherboard.

And the 3080ti is still a great GPU.

What type of game/settings do you play that the 3080ti can't handle ?

My budget is $900
I am already using 34" 60hz 3440x1440 monitor, I only play single player games such as RDR2, Anno, Civ, Factorio, that sort of games

The other reason for the upgrade is so I can give my old stuff for my sons (16 and 13)

My sons are using :

1st son's PC Ryzen 3700x, RTX 3070, 32gb (This one likes fast paced multiplayer)
2nd son's PC Core i7 6700, Rtx 2070 Super, 16gb (This one only play those 2d map kingdom and world war games from roblox, sometimes world of tanks and similiar games)
