Looking for a new router

Like the topic says I am looking for a new router. I am currently rocking a Netgear R6400 from 2015 but lately it has been dropping its wifi connection. Not sure whats wrong with it or why it has been acting up lately. It is dropping while my wife is in a video meeting for work which is pretty bad. I havent had issues with it in the past when we had a roomie and we were streaming and playing online games at the same time so I don't think a chromebook streaming sesame street for the kiddo and her work pc on seperate bands is the issue. I am pretty green when it comes to this kinda thing so any help would be appreciated.

I could suggest building your own router with the help of some tutorials, including this one from LTT themselves, but I'm just going to assume you don't want to do that. I do suggest for you to stay away from those flashy overpriced "gaming" routers, though. I'd recommend TP-Link if you're on a budget. They've got stuff in all price ranges.

Don't tell me to upgrade. I would've done so if I could.

No its the whole network. Both our phones, the chromebook, the chromecast, and her work computer. The phones, chromebook, and chromecast are on the 5ghz band and her work pc is on the 2.5ghz.

Building one sounds like a fun project but I don't have a lot of spare time on my hands. Any recommendations for the TP-Link units?

Ahh yeah, then it's likely the router(If you've ruled out the service itself), I like the TP-Link Omada routers and access points, but they're pretty overkill. I set this router up for my brother and his family and they haven't had any issues.

Their Archer AXE75 support Wi-Fi 6E. It's fairly powerful by the looks of it, but it costs ~€160. I don't know if it's any good, as I don't use it. I just know the brand itself is good 🤷‍♂️

Have you updated the firmware? There is a chance that it could be a bug and it might fix the issue.

Im personally rocking a Synology RT2600AC and it's been rock solid. I think they have an updated version thats WiFi 6, might be worth looking in to.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
