Winbond 25Q128JVSQ BIOS chip - again

Hello and I am working with a Winbond 25Q128JVSQ BIOS chip and have followed several threads here and one indicated the chip was able to be flashed and read. I am using Ch341A Programmer but still can't read this bios chip.

I de-soldered the chip and am using the adapter in the 25spi position. The AsProgrammer is version v2.0.4 and does reference the 25Q128JV. All I get is FFs (null). The software does see the chip. Anyone else try managing a 25Q128JVSQ? I have tried 4 other programmers without success. Thank you...

How are you able to flash it, but not read? Are you sure the clip is facing the right way? Also, what are you using the BIOS chip for? Usually you can flash it, when its soldered to the board.

Maybe this can help you: https://www.overclock.net/threads/brand-new-method-how-to-unbrick-flash-almost-any-card-amd-or-nvidia.1612108/?post_id=27908628#post-27908628

Thx for reply - I cant flash it as I indicated and the ASProgrammer is attempting to read the chip and all I get is null FF's. The orientation is pin 1 and is in the socket correctly and the software sees the chip but cannot get the entire information. This OP on another thread on this forum said he can flash it with a link to this specific ASProgrammer v2.0.4. This version does reference 25Q128JV. This Winbond is off a motherboard that we benched and have not been able to find anything of significance that would indicate there is a burned mosfet, capacitor etc. I de-soldered the bios chip because I want to see if I can read it. This board is from a customer and we cannot revive the board and replaced this proprietary STGAubron board with a ASUS. We could not find the original system board and there is only references to this model number that indicate it is no longer available. It's an LGA 1200 510 chip.  I am just troubleshooting the board. It will not post. These STGAubron gaming system appears to use non-standard proprietary ( probably Chinese ) Winbond bios chips. These systems are inexpensive gaming towers. When you try and contact them the mailbox must be full and you get delivery failures. We are still attempting & waiting to get a response from them. So for now I just want to see if I can read the chip first.

The link you posted is for the regular CH341a - been there and done that - no it does not see this Winbond.
