Upgrading from 2070 Super -- looking for options around $300 US

The RTX 4060 and RX 7600XT both seem right around my budget. DLSS 3 is tempting me toward the RTX card. The 7600XT seems to have slightly higher performance in gaming benchmarks though. I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600 with a 750w PSU. Should I just go with my gut or is there a more objectively better option?

Those cards are barely upgrades I'm afraid, the new "midrange" is $500. For $300, you'd be going from an old higher-end card to an entry-level/lower midrange 1080p card.

Why do you want to upgrade?

Looking at reviews of the 4060 and other cards in that class, your only getting ~20-30% faster than your current card. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/msi-geforce-rtx-4060-gaming-x/32.html

I don't think it worth it spending $300 for a small performance increase, and would either wait for anouther gen of cards, or a higher budget.

My current 2070 Super can handle 4K in some games pretty decently (at least by my standards). I'm honestly not too bothered if I have to keep playing that way. MY biggest problem with the 2070 is the lack of HDMI 2.1. Even if I can't fully game in 4K I have a 4K120 TV I'd like more compatibility with.

As I said in another reply, it's more for the HDMI 2.1 rather than for a huge upgrade in performance. I got a 4K120 TV last year. Using HDMI 2.0 with it even at 4K60 or lower seems to cause some odd issues at times.

I'm curious, what issues? I have a hdmi 2.0 gpu(1080) plugged into my HDMI 2.1 display without any issues other than 4k60 max. I'd check the cable if there are odd outages or issues.

Primarily weird pink/red pixel "flickering" all over the screen in games. I also have multiple monitors, and occasionally when moving windows between the two I'll have a momentary black screen on one or both.

Try a new cable, that seems like a cable issue to me. Could also be a failing GPU if the cable doesn't affect it.

What about the other issue I'm occasionally having which I edited into my reply?
