I just switched from a Radeon 6700 XT to a Asus 3070 in my system due to unlimited driver issues with my Radeon card. I've been trying to set up resizable bar support, however everything I've tried isn't working and I want to know if I should return the card and get a different one. Below is a list of everything I've tried and I cant think of anything else. Built the PC myself about 2 years back.

-Above 4G decoding set to Enable in bios, Re-sizable bar support set to Auto, and CSM disabled

-reflash bios to F39

-used Asus resizable bar update tool (stated the card needed no update)

-reseated the graphics card

-updated all drivers (Chipset and graphics)

-reinstalled windows to a different drive

As you can see I've tried about everything I can think of and it still isn't enabled and I have no idea why. Want to know if I should return it before the window closes so please help ASAP and let me know if there's anything I haven't tried yet please and thank you.

PC specs:

  • Ryzen 7 5800x
  • ASUS Dual RTX 3070
  • Aurous x570 Elite
  • EVGA G5 750w

I'd assume it's just a bug with the BIOS, and you might need to do something like disable then re-enable ReBAR to get this to work.

Realistically though, on 30 series cards having ReBAR enabled or disabled makes very little difference for performance (from what I remember, it's something like a 3% improvement at most) so if turning it off and on again doesn't fix it, I just wouldn't bother doing any further troubleshooting.

Gigabytes own BIOS is buggy. You have clear CMOS and set everything again on first post.

Unless you care about numbers, the actual perceived performance difference is close to 0.

(some games didn't benefit from re-bar at all)

Try downgrading the BIOS/clearing the CMOS as others have said.

Agreed, ReBar didn't do sh#t on my 3080, and in tests some games were even slower, so really not a big issue if it doesn 't work on a 3070

Some games even run worse with rebar apparently... hell I'll update my gpus bios for some snakeoil shit...  funny enough OP apparently had issues with AMD, if i were them I'd enjoy my (nearly) bug free Nvidia experience (pro tip: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ENABLE "NVIDIA OVERLAY" 😉)

I just cleared the CMOS and set back to the correct settings in BIOS to no avail. Still stuck.

Well the reason I switched is mainly for Asetto Corsa I play it mainly in VR and heard NVIDA cards generally perform better with VR due to drivers and some other games, so that 3 percent difference could mean a lot to me especially since its a hard game to run in VR already. You think it would matter much or just leave it?

Generally speaking, if it didnt work then you probably didnt clear it properly. Do it coupe of times, even pull the battery off the board. I have two gigabyte boards that show identical behavior.

I think I did, correct me if I am wrong pls. you take a screwdriver to the CLR_CMOS pins for abt 10 secs. After boot, my BIOS settings were completely reset and I had to do the normal CSM disabled/ enabled 4G decoding and even my XMP profiles were gone. Do you still think I should try it again?
