Audio only playing in one side of headset.

Go to solution Solved by Cocococo,

Sounds like a problem in the jack itself, most likely a wire disconnected from the left channel on the headphone jack internally, if the cable is swappable then just changing cable will likely solve the issue since you've confirmed it isn't an earcup issue

I have a wired pair of HS60 Corsair headphones. Recently the audio started only coming through on the right side of the headset. It is definitely a hardware issue. Other headphones, both wired and wireless, do perfectly fine. The same headphones also have the same problems across multiple computers. I have taken the ear cups off and pulled the driver from the left side to inspect for a loose wire connection to the driver, but everything looks good and wiggling the wires never makes the audio come back. I also have massaged the cord going from the headset to the pc to see if there was a short I could find in it, but the audio never came back that way either.

Probably something with the wire still, sadly it looks like the cable is non-removeable. If it's doing the same thing across different devices it's certanily a hw issue sadly. Do you still have warranty running or something? There's not a lot of solutions unless you're a skilled electrician afaik

No warranty left, sadly. I didn't mention it, but the side that works is the side that has the wire that goes to the computer. That leads me to believe that the issue is in the wire that goes from that side over to the other side through the headband. I have traced the parts of the wire that are visible by removing plates and ear cups, but unfortunately the wire ends up going inside the plastic of the headband to go over the head and into the other side 馃槙

I think you are right about it being the jack. I was able to unplug the jack slightly and get it in the perfect spot where it plays through both ears. The cable is not swappable, but I am going to try to replace the jack itself instead of the cord . I already have gotten a replacement for the headset, so this is more of an attempt to fix it for the fun of it/having a backup pair.
