Lenovo T450 swapped LCD panel unable to control brightness...

Go to solution Solved by powertoys,

This specific model of ThinkPad has a screen whitelist... the only screens that have a working brightness control are the ones it shipped with. It works fine under Linux, though.

You will either have to do a BIOS mod with special hardware, mess with the screen's EDID somehow or use a third party software to adjust the brightness as you like.

Hello,

Recently I bought a refurbished laptop from Amazon and, to my surprise, I wasn't able to change the brightness level on it.

now the first thing I thought of is updating my drivers but, no use.

I discovered lately that the screen was replaced with a better one that supports 1920x1080 (Originally 1366x786) which is better.. but couldn't change the brightness level ;).

Here's the panel number: B140HAN02.4

Hope you can help ;)
