Upgrading CPU from Intel i7 9700K

then the 14700K and might get a new update soon?

LGA 1700 is more dead than am5, am5 still has ryzen 9000 Zen 5, LGA 1700 is or might be dead, I'd get am5 tho

Budget (including currency):  +- 1500 euro

Country: Belgium

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly games but some light Blender and Unity

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):
So as stated in the title, I'm looking to upgrade my current CPU and connected parts. Since I am noticing some issues and frankly I want to upgrade from PCIe3. So CPU, motherboard, RAM and CPU cooler being the obvious parts. Depending on need I might upgrade the PSU and case too.
Parts I will be keeping are my RTX 3080 and if I can my Corsair RM850x powers supply.

I've always used Intel but I'm curious about changing to AMD but I know less about that platform.
Currently my main contenders are the i7 14700K or the Ryzen 7900x but it doesn't have to be between those two.

I usually play singleplayer games at 3840x1600 and I'm happy with 60fps. I don't need "competitive" framerates.

not much point in that since it's only slightly faster in blender, will most likely get hotter and they're essentially the same in gaming

for games that's what you want, unless you're talking about productivity, but there will always be a bottleneck. For games a GPU one is best

So any downsides to going AMD? Seems better price to performance. Only downside being that it's slightly older then the 14700K and might get a new update soon? But it's probably also more likely that a new AMD chipset will still be compatible with my Motherboard.

for gaming 7800X3D is better than 7900X.... and still capable of light blender work.
