How annoying is brushed aluminum on laptops?

Anthony10
Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

brush aluminum, not aluminum. I have heard countless complaints of fingerprint stains on brushed aluminum.

Just so it's clear. This is aluminum:

I've never seen fingerprints on brushed aluminum.

What I own that has brushed aluminum on it:

The laptop you are looking at looks to be the same kind of brushed aluminum as that Kingston SSD.

I don't think you'll be bother at all by it.

I'm thinking of getting the MSI Ghost Pro 3k when it comes out, which is all brushed aluminum, I was wondering if it'll be a huge pain and eyesore if I buy it or if it's an easy clean once a week, or if the fingerprints aren't even that noticeable? If some people who actually have experience with brushed aluminum made laptops could let me know their experience that would be nice, thanks!

I don't own a brushed aluminium laptop, but I do have other things that are brushed aluminium.

I don't see a negative to it aside from price. Basically what megadarkwood said.

Looks nice. Just be aware that you might stain it (not sure if it's the same as what the brushed aluminum is on the desktops).

The work laptop I'm typing on right now is brushed aluminum, and I think it's pretty awesome. If anything, it feels cleaner/nicer than the soft touch rubberized paint around the keyboard of my Alienware m14x r2 which I've increasingly had the urge to replace...

EDIT: Going back to the work laptop I'm currently using at the office, if I push down on the brushed aluminum really hard with my thumb, I can sort of make out a fingerprint, but I can pretty much rub it away with my palm. This laptop is silver, however, so I don't know if it becomes more visible on black or not. I have a hard time imagining it though.

Brushed aluminum just feels and looks awesome! Buts adds a premium price tag in most cases...

I find with brushed aluminum it is the black that shows the smudges/ dust more than anything.
