Seeking Clarity on Asus VG249Q3A - Is it 8-bit or 6-bit+FRC?

Jacki69i

I've got my eyes set on the Asus VG249Q3A, but the bit depth details are causing a bit of confusion. Some sources claim it's 8-bit, while others suggest it might be 6-bit+FRC. Any users out there who can shed light on this? Your real-world experiences and insights, especially if it's truly 8-bit or 6-bit with Frame Rate Control (FRC), would be immensely helpful in making the right call. Appreciate the community expertise! 馃檹

6bit + FRC effectively results in 8bit. Same as 8bit + FRC effectively reproduces 10bit. Realistically it doesn't matter and it's a common way brands save a bit of money on cheaper monitors. Reviews of many monitors have shown that 8bit + FRC can perform the same or better than native 10bit or 12bit panels.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
