My new build 2024

Budget (including currency): Unsure

Country: Philippines

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Unsure

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I want to confirm, is it ok to pair a 12400 with a 4070/4060? Or should I stick with 30 series? I know AMD cards are much better when it comes to price to performance, but most shops here in our country only have NVIDIA cards.

Thanks for the answers. 🙂

Yes it would. If Nvidia GPUs is what you can have its not bad but if you still want an Amd card you can get it online.

If I will look for an AMD card online, what's the best I can get for the said CPU?

but at what resolution? a 4070 at 1440p will be fine. A 4070 at 1080p will be less fine but still doable. A 4060 is just bad value so I wouldn't get it full stop

depends on your budget and resolution. at 1080p I'd say a 6700 xt, at 1440p a 7800 xt and at 4k then a 7900 xt

3060Ti was also an option but I kinda want a bigger VRAM that's why my first options were either 3060 12GB  or 4070, next were 7700XT/7800XT

I'd get the 7700 xt if you can find it for $400 or the 6800 if you can find it for $400. The 3060 12gb will be a good option for $280

what res are you playing at?

mostly 1080p, up to 1440p I guess, since I'm not that really a big monitor guy, I'm only using 24" Monitors

Most of my games are LoL, Valorant, CS, and I might try LostArk or other AAA games that I'm interested with.

also, 7700XT here starts at 550 USD, and 3060 is at 320 USD, not really sure why they're priced like this here.

Seasonic Focus+ 750PX PLATINUM 750watts
Crucial P5 Plus M.2 1TB
G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB Dual DDR4 3600Mhz CL18
MSI Pro B760M-A WIFI DDR4
i5-12400
3060 12GB/4070 Super 12 GB(optional)

This is build I'm going for. Is this enough? Is 750watts for a PSU overkill? Should I also opt for a secondary drive?

The PSU I've listed above is around 128 USD but if I buy the Focus 80 Gold from a different shop, the price will go down to 120 USD.

It's price is around the same numbers with Focus 80 Gold but stocks are limited.

Another thing, RMx are hard to come buy here so that's the reason why I opted first with Seasonic.

Thank you very much. One last thing, is it ok to get a Windows key from a grey-market sites like SCDKeys?

I want to clarify something here (sorry if this is not the one last thing hehe). Why does VRAM doesn't matter at some games? I'm seeing a lot of videos saying 3060 Ti is much better than a 3060. They also show that 4070 is a 1440p card(as I've said I'm a 1080p guy and 1440p monitors here are quite expensive they go up way above 350$) and I'm confused since others also say that 4060/4060Ti is better than 3060/3060Ti. I also want to consider going for 7600/7600XT but as I've mentioned AMD cards are really rare here.

I want to focus on 1080p gaming with this setup since this will be my daily driver for gaming and for some work I guess.

I want to confirm which card should I get, 3060/3060Ti? 4060/4060Ti? or 4070?

I'm sorry if I have a lot of questions. A lot of my previous plan build doesn't go through but I'm really determined THIS YEAR to push this through since my laptop isn't working for me anymore and I don't have a lot of money to begin with.

Thanks for the all answers and I really appreciate it.

I've got a 3060 12gb and in some unoptimized games (such as pcbs2) that extra vram really helps (I'm nearly maxing out on it)

I can't say on here (but yes)

it is better but it has less lanes, it's not bad but if the 3060 is less then get that instead of a 4060

3060 is around 350USD here

3060 ti around 370USD and 4070 is around 670USD

Not sure why this is the pricing here(possibly due to shipping costs), but that about it. Also, I've just checked the availability of 30 series cards here, it seems to be nearly out of stock. So the next thing that I can really get, if suddenly the 30 series cards became OOS, 4060/4060 ti/4070 are my only choice. I just don't know what to pick between this 3 40 series cards.
