rx5600xt to 4070 super upgrade

Deku805

Hello everyone Im going to buy a 4070 super from Best Buy next Friday I was put on a waiting list. I currently have an AMD 3600x CPU, b550 motherboard, EVGA Supernova 650 gold psu, am I going to bottleneck the GPU playing games at 1440p 170hz? Should I also change the PSU for one with more watts?

Your PSU is okay but that cpu is going to bottleneck you but let me explain

If your playing on 4k you wont get bottleneck : https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/0Um1id/3/graphic-card-intense-tasks/3840x2160/

But if your going to be playing at 1080p or 1440p your going to be bottlenecked: https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/0Um1id/3/graphic-card-intense-tasks/2560x1440/

You would get something like the 7600x, 7700x, 7700, 7800x3d.

I have a 3700x with 4070TI and use a 1440p monitor and have been completely fine.

If you do have a big bottleneck in the games you play, you can always upgrade the CPU later on.

PSU is super super fine. Try upgrade it with a 5700x3d since it is very compatible. And also, if you want to have a really small gainz, go with a AMD Card (like a 7800xt or a 7900 GRE, with higher vram and dont care bout ray tracing) so that it can have SMART ACCESS MEMORY feature.
