Hey everyone,

My Aorus B650 Pro AX is done, after only one year...
So I need a new one, I heard horror stories about ASUS B650 motherboards, is it still true?
Im opting for MSI B650 Tomahawk...

Any suggestions?

The issues they had were related to the SOC voltage being too high, every manufacturer had that issue, Asus was just the most aggressive about it. This has been fixed with BIOS updates though.

The tomahawk is fine, though I'd probably look at ASRock's lineup, it's usually very cheap for some very good boards. B650 LiveMixer is a good example of this, usually $150 for a very feature complete board.

they fixed it in a bios update. But if you're not OK with it then there's definitely alternatives

not a bad option but the gaming plus wifi has many of the same features for about $30 cheaper MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard (B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI) - PCPartPicker

B650 livemixer can be had for quite cheap though and it's got heaps of USB

Yes mate, that is me... I took it to service, we exchanged everything and when motherboard was swapped it started right up. B650 GAMING PLUS was 202$ and B650 Tomahawk is 218$ so I taught it might be better to get Tomahawk?

Ok, the Live Mixer isn't really cheap there. Still, other ASRock boards are still worth looking at. The B650 Lightning is pretty good for cheap, and the B650M-HDV/M.2 is one of the cheapest B650 boards while also being very well rated if you don't need a ton of features.

I'll give it a look, I still have time to cancel the order.

only thing is I'm getting it from Amazon so choices are limited, thats why I don't look at PcPartPicker.
I'll definitely take a look LiveMixer and few other models as I don't need a WiFi and I don't really do overclocking apart from XMP, even that doesn't yield a lot of performance.
Mostly its gaming and recording as I recently decided to start a YouTube channel.

No l, I actually live in Middle East. I travel a lot, so this is how I have access to both markets.

so I transfer everything to USD as it tells me if something is cheaper of more expensive. Just for my brain 😅

So are you buying from UK because shipping is cheaper? Shipping from Germany or even from US could be cheaper cuz or Brexit over here. I’m not 100% sure tho

Its 100$ extra with shipping and VAT. So I'll have to get it from UK, and with difference of 20$ between Tomahawk and GAMING PLUS.

However I saw this

650M D3HP might be an option
