What GPU should I upgrade to?

PandaIsBonkers

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and i have a budget of around 250$ or less, and I'll be buying second hand. My current system specs are an AMD Ryzen 5 2600, a GTX 1070, 32 gigabytes of DDR4 3200 ram, and a 650 watt corsair power supply. I've been looking on craigslist and offer up and found an rtx 2080 for 200$. Does my current power supply have the power budget for an rtx 2080? Or should I go with something like a 3060, 2070, or 2070 super? My main goal is to run at 1440p ideally at 90fps or more on the game theHunter: Call of the Wild.

I would probably go for the 3060 over the 2080. But it all really depends on what deals you can find and at what prices. I would probably still like no less than a card with 10gb of vram but I'd still take a 3070 if the price is right.

$200 for a 2080 isn’t bad, definitely wouldn’t be my first choice. But especially if it’s a good 2080. I wouldn’t bother with a blower style card, reference would be ok, but any triple fan model for $200 is a decent deal.

The psu will be fine with anything short of current gen high end or like a 3090, nothing in that budget will be tapping out the psu.

Might be worth looking at the 6600xt or a used 6700xt, they’re getting cheaper and sometimes you can snag a 6700 or 6700xt for around that $250 mark. The lower end options of the 6700xt like the MSI mech 2x one can be had commonly for sub $250, though they are hot and loud if you can live with that.

yeah it seems like the 3060 and 2080 are decently close in performance with the 2080 having a slight edge on the 3060. I can get a 3060 or a 2080 for about the same price where im at. ill be on the lookout for the best deals definitely
