High Resource Utilization on Website with Latest GPU Drivers

maanmallik

Hello Linus Tech Tips Community,

I am facing a peculiar issue with our website, which is an interactive and resource-rich platform for pet owners. We've recently received feedback from several users about unusually high resource utilization when accessing our site, specifically related to GPU usage. This issue seems to be occurring with users who have recently updated their GPU drivers.

Issue Description: Users have reported that their GPU usage spikes significantly when they are browsing PetPediaPro. This issue doesn't seem to occur with other websites and is particularly noticeable in systems with the latest GPU drivers installed.

Specific Challenges:

  1. Increased GPU Load: Users with updated GPU drivers are experiencing up to 70-80% GPU usage while browsing our site.
  2. System Heat and Noise: Due to the high GPU usage, users' systems are running hotter and noisier than usual.
  3. No Similar Issues on Other Websites: This high resource usage is specific to PetPediaPro and is not observed when users visit other resource-intensive websites.

Troubleshooting Done So Far:

  • Ensured that there are no heavy scripts or media elements on our website that could cause such high GPU usage.
  • Tested our website on various systems and GPUs, confirming that the issue is more prevalent on systems with the latest drivers.
  • Consulted with our web development team to check for any coding practices that might be triggering this issue (no leads so far).

Possible Causes:

  • An incompatibility between our website's code and the latest GPU drivers.
  • A specific feature or script in our website that is interacting unusually with these newer drivers.
  • An unidentified bug in the GPU drivers that is triggered under certain web browsing scenarios.

We are looking for insights or suggestions from the tech-savvy community here, especially those who have experience with web development and GPU behavior. Any advice on diagnosing or resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help and expertise!
