Having Problems with my internet speeds over Ethernet

EhHenny

I am having trouble with my Link Speeds over ethernet. I get 1.5Gbps from my ISP and a week ago I used to get these speeds on my computer over ethernet. But just today i have noticed that my link speeds as shown in the attached photo is capped to 100Mbps wondering if anyone has a fix for this? I have a CAT 6 cable and I have not messed with any settings from when I had the higher speeds to now. Any help would be great thanks!

An initial handshake is done between the nodes to determine the maximum link speed of the cable.

Have you looked into the driver information to see if, for some reason, Windows has changed it? Or have you tried installing the network driver on your device through the manufacturer's website?

Another possible culprit would be the cable itself. Check if it has become physically damaged, like a pinch of a door or a bite from a rodent like a squirrel.

Qoute my reply if you want me to answer back.
