Hi I recently bricked my motherboard after purchasing a new r7 5800x. Since I need a new mobo anyways, is it recommended to just refund the new cpu, and go am5? I was thinking this was I would atleast be better off for gaming and have more upgradability in the future. If I were to upgrade this would be what I would upgrade to. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZdL4YN

Up to you. You can get a good B550 board on used market if you want to cut down, but even on new board total platform cost of AM5 is completely different planet of pricing compared to buying a B550 board. So personally, I would keep the CPU.
