its meh you dont need 16gb and a i7 for gaming could have gone with 8gb and a i5 and switch to a 780 or 780ti...

WTF !  he's got it in the Rig up and running, he wanted the extra features even when he wont be using all of the performance delivered, what about future proof, what if he wants do do some video/3D editing,  goddamn it, such a joy killer

I also have 16GB in my "gaming rig" because I will also run other memory intensive software on it. Just because it's a gaming rig doesn't mean that he only will play games on it.. But at the other side I understand your point.

so, Gaming with 4670K and 8GB is jut slightly ahead more than enough, 4770K with 16Gb is way more than enough and future proof

Yes, this is a tech forum, but this thread is about PC gaming, NOT to sound off on your latest build. For that, there the 'Show off your rig' (or something to that effect) in the General Hardware section. This section here is about games and gaming, hence, OP should not have posted this here, he should have done it in the General hardware section......every thing/topic has its place, we shouln't just post whatever we like in whichever thread we want to.
