ASUS PRIME X470-PRO M.2 bandwith? For Samsung 980 Pro with Ryzen 9 5900x

I wasn't quite able to figure out the relation between the pcies and generations and ssd speeds, im sorry. In the manual it says something completely indecypherable for me - ive included a screenshot.

If I put it into the top m2 slot, given that im using ASUS PRIME X470-PRO, Ryzen 9 5900x and Samsung 980 Pro 2TB - is the SSD losing any speed? If so, how much? If I was to eventually buy a new mobo, what spec am i looking for? Thank you!

Yes, it'll lose speed.  It's a Gen 3 slot, so the Gen 4 drive will run at Gen 3.

Am i understanding that means it will run at speed of 3.938 GB/s? gen 3 x4.

And the 980pro is 7gb read and 5gb write, meaning im losing a lot, but admitedly a lot of speed that i wouldnt use, given its for gaming.

And the other slot is gen 3 x2, meaning 1.969 GB/s, so i could put my old Samsung 980, which is 3.5gb/3gb, and use it for storage anyways, correct? would it be okay to game too?
