I'm replacing my old gpu and upgrading to a rtx 4070 (ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 OC Edition)聽

My current gpu is an EVGA 650w g2 gold i bought in 2016

Will there be any problems at all?

Yes. it will be fine 馃檪 No problem!聽 The 4070 draws a max of 200w.聽 I run my 340w RTX 4080 on a 750w without any issues.
Linus actually ran the RTX 4090 on a 650w and it didn't crash.

Your EVGA 650w g2 gold is definitely getting a bit on the older side but its been running fine until now so it should last a while longer.
Congratulations on getting the 4070! What a nice gaming card.

I'm sure you could boot into Windows and even play some games without any problem. If you are not going to be away from the computer while leaving it on running intensive tasks it's probably alright. I've blown out older power supplies leaving them on for 3D rendering.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X聽 聽Motherboard: MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi聽 聽Case: Deepcool Maxtrexx 70聽 聽GPU: RTX 3090聽 聽RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3x16GB 3200 MHz 聽 PSU: Super Flower 850W

4070 runs off a single 8 pin and has pretty modest power requirements, so I wouldn't expect you to have any problems.

That CPU draws around 130w during 100% load ( full usage ) . So if the GPU and CPU run at 100% you are drawing 330w, the rest of the system uses maybe 50w ( Ram uses around 6w per 8GB, fans around 3w ) .
650w is more than enough 馃檪聽 Plenty of headroom, no problemo!
Happy gaming
